Cook for the Giant (VR)
A downloadable gamejam submission for Windows
This VR game was made over the course of five days during the Unreal Engine Summer Jam 29.07.2017 - 04.07.2017 with a subset of our team:
Jonathan Hale - Project Management, Coding, Technical Art
Florian Isikci - Coding, Technical Art
Maximilian Welscher - Modeling and Animation
Falk Ridder - Texturing, Concept Art, Banner Image, Game Logo
Timothy Hale - Sound Effects and Sountrack
We started off with a project containing C++ code which matches the VR template of the Unreal Engine (picking up objects, the blue hands and the hand poses) as well as some safety system which blends in Vive controller when they get to close to each other or the headset.
All the other assets and code were created during the jam.
Blessing in Disguise
This topic was hard! We actually spent the first 12 hours of the gamejam discussing the topic (and sleeping over it).
You will find, we handle the topic on a meta-level. If you can't figure it out yourself, try beating all the levels... maybe there is a hidden explanation somewhere.
We alsointegated this topic on another level: The stories you get to read in the book are about a giant stealing the badly cooked stew of a group of gnome soldiers, who did not have the correct ingredients for their traditional recipe. The giant though liked this stew so much that it ended the war with an amazing symbiosis between the two races.
